Sydney is Seven Months Old!
May 11, 2012
Sydney Kate, how is it possible that you're getting so big already? I can't believe you're closer to one year old than you are to a little newborn baby. Yikes! We don't have a check up at seven months and I was too
So Sydney, what are you up to at seven months old?
- You had a little trouble with sleeping this past month. I did a little research and figured out that you were probably getting overly tired and not sleeping well because we weren't being consistent enough with your nap schedule and weren't putting you to bed early enough. So we've been putting you to bed at about 6:45pm, you're sleeping until between 6:00 and 7:00am, going down for a nap between 8:30 and 9:00am, napping again around noon, and then taking a third nap in the middle of the afternoon (about half the time).
- You love solid food! You're now eating solids twice a day. This month you tried acorn squash, pears, zucchini, carrots and banana. You weren't totally pumped about the acorn squash, but if I mix it with carrots or sweet potato you don't have a problem with it.
- Most days, you're breastfeeding four times a day. With the addition of two solid meals a day and with you sleeping much better it was getting really hard to fit five feedings into a day. So I finally decided to cut a feeding out and it's been working great.
- You are wearing 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
- You are on the move! You are a little rollie pollie and are rolling all over the place. Plus, you started pushing up into the plank position and then onto your hands and knees. You're rocking back and forth on your knees a ton. I think you're getting pretty close to being able to crawl!
- You rolled down the stairs this month. :( Luckily you were fine, but I was a little shook up about the whole thing. You're just so darn quick when you're moving around.
- You started taking baths in the the real bathtub this month. You love it when we put you in with your sister.
- You are sitting up by yourself now. You're not totally stable yet, but you're getting stronger everyday.
- You've gotten super grabby. I swear you have Elastigirl arms because you can reach everything! We really have to keep an eye on you when you're sitting on our laps during meals now.
- You are a very determined little girl. When you see something that you want, you figure out how to get it.
- You are a talker just like your sister. You jabber away all the time.
- You are super cute, funny and cuddly. We love your sweet smile and have so much fun with you every single day. Love you sweetie pea!!!
