It's official, we have moved into our new house! It's still a bit of a disaster, but all of our stuff is there, the beds are made, our clothes are in the closets and we have managed to get our kitchen organized enough to find/prepare food when necessary.
Our big moving day was last Friday. We were so lucky to have a great group of guys give up their entire day to help us move furniture and boxes. Everything went really smoothly. Only one minor injury (a large piece of furniture got dropped on a foot...ouch!), one piece of furniture that never made it up the stairs;(it was too big and too heavy), and just a few small "holes" in the drywall (because of previously mentioned ginormous piece of furniture). But considering we have a lot of rather large, bulky furniture and a twisted staircase, I am definitely calling it a success.
Honestly, the only time that things got out of control crazy was Friday afternoon. The Comcast guy came to install the phone, Internet and cable; the guys from Lowe's came to deliver and hook up the washer and dryer; Mimi brought Cameron back to the house; and Ryan and the rest of the "moving crew" showed up with a new load of furniture...all in about 30 minutes. Fortunately, I was able to multitask and we were able to get all the chaos handled. Thanks goodness!
We were extremely lucky to have Mimi, Granne and Aunt Jenna help watch Cameron throughout the weekend. Having a one year old roaming around in the middle of a move just isn't really the best (or so I realized after just a few minutes of having Cameron running around the house pulling things out of boxes, finding miscellaneous cords, climbing up the stairs, throwing things over the balcony, etc.)
After the weekend Cameron was exhausted...actually we all were. Cameron fell asleep in the middle of the floor Monday morning because she was so tuckered out! Poor baby girl. :(
I'm going to wait to post house pictures until we have things a little more put together. But in the meantime I'll leave you with this, our sleepy little girl.
