Labor Day Weekend

Well, it's time to put away the white pants and white shoes. Labor Day has come and gone and summer is officially over. I am really sad. I love the summer, always have, always will. I love to play outside in the warm weather—swimming, running...sigh. Oh well, now it's onto the fall, which is going to be a lot of fun too! I can't wait for Cameron to experience all the exciting new things that come with the fall season—leaves changing, the first snow, Halloween, Thanksgiving. Not that she's going to remember it or anything, but I will. :-) This year has been such a blast and it just keeps getting better and better!

We had a really busy and fun Labor Day weekend. My dad's brother, Uncle Stewart, and his family came to visit from Kansas. We had a great time hanging out with them. His boys are 10 and 12 and are full of energy, which cracked me up all weekend.

On Monday, Ryan, my dad and I ran the Park-to-Park 10 Miler. I was kind of nervous about it because I'm not quite back to running how I was pre-pregnancy, but it turned out great. I ran much better than I was expecting. Plus it was a beautiful day. Ryan ran a great race too. He finish in his goal time...I was so proud of him. He is such a great athlete it seems like he can do anything well, it makes me jealous. :-)

I misplaced my camera the morning of the race, so I don't have pictures of that, but here are some other pictures from our weekend.

Miss Cameron playing with one of her toys on Friday night.

Saturday morning Cameron woke up with some awesome bed head!

Cameron decided to keep herself busy in our closet while we got ready Saturday morning.

Cameron with her first cousin once removed (is that right?), Brayden. He's my Uncle's youngest. He's a big Texas fan, notice the shirt.

Cameron hanging out with my cousin Brett, he's 12 and loves to run. He actually chose to go running instead of going with us to the awesome Rec Center pool Saturday afternoon...crazy kid!

Cameron playing with one of Grandma's new toys.

Cameron playing with Superpop and Uncle Stewart. She's still not so sure about hanging out with men sometimes, if you look close you can see a concerned look on her face.

Me and my honey-poo during dinner Sunday night. We were carbo loading for our race...or something like that! ;-)

Cameron playing with Brayden, he's dressed in Texas stuff again!

Brayden's 10th birthday is this week so we had a little celebration, complete with cake and a few water balloons!

Cameron and Aunt Jenna

Monday morning after our race we drove into Boulder to meet Ryan's family for brunch. His Aunt and Uncle were in town from North Dakota so we got to see them and two of his cousins. While we were eating a fire started just west of Boulder. When we came out of the restaurant the sky was filled with smoke. We found out later that there was a big fire in the mountains and over a 1000 families were evacuated from their homes and several homes had burned down. Crazy huh?

WHILE AT BRUNCH

"Give me some of that banana Mom, that looks good."

"Look at me eating a banana like a big girl, no spoon or anything."

"Hmmm...that tastes interesting"

After brunch Cameron passed out. It was a big morning for her and she was a very sleepy baby. We got her up early to go to Grandma and Superpop's house before the race. Then she missed her nap so she could hang out with us at the race expo after the race.

Everyone who's seen Cameron recently has been amazed at how mobile she is already. She's mastered the army crawl and can zip from room to room pretty quickly if she wants to. Well, I think we're getting pretty close to taking it to the next level—a full out crawl is just around the corner. Cameron started pushing up to her knees this weekend. She even tried to pull up to standing! Oh my goodness, our lives are changing so quickly!

Here's Cameron pulling up on her bouncy chair. Just a few minutes after this picture she got up onto her feet.

Here's a video of her from last night. You can see her thinking about crawling.

Now that we have a very mobile little girl, we figured it was time to start childproofing. I got outlet plugs last week and Ryan installed a gate at the top of the stairs last night. Now I just have to make sure that I don't trip over it and fall down the stairs! HA Luckily it has a door so it shouldn't be too hazardous.

Cameron helping her dad put up the gate.

Cameron and Daddy next to her brand new gate!

I think that's just about covers all the highlights from our weekend. I realized when I was putting together this post that I never got a picture of Cameron with Aunt Lisa. We'll have to make sure to get one next time we see Stewart and the family.

Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend...Happy Tuesday!

Fun! C is getting so big! With such active parents like yall i'm not surprised she's moving so soon. Gone are the days of sitting our babies in one spot and not worrying about them eating bugs or bumping heads. We haven't put up a baby gate just yet. Do you like yours? does it screw in the wall? Where'd you get it? it looks like a nice wood
Way to go on running 10 miles! Good for you to hop back into running so soon after baby. I'm using Sean as an excuse to not run, haha. I know you enjoy it so much, so i'm sure that makes it easier to get out there! I need to just sign up for a race and commit! Now that the weather isn't 100 i guess i can get outside.=)
