Pregnancy

When I was pregnant with Cameron, every week I documented my pregnancy with pictures of the food that correlated with her size, profile pictures of me, updates on how I was feeling, etc. When I was pregnant with Sydney I did a monthly update summarizing how it was going. Well, as is typical with a third pregnancy, life was just a little too busy to keep up! So I'm going to play a little catchup and do one overview summary of my pregnancy.

I'm actually a pretty lucky pregnant lady, I don't ever get too uncomfortable. This time around, similar to when I was pregnant with the girls, I didn't feel stellar the first trimester. My stomach was a little off, not in a nauseous sort of way, I just felt like a lot of the foods I ate didn't agree with me very well. But even with that, I have nothing to complain about because it was not that bad at all. As soon as I hit 11 or 12 weeks all of those symptoms subsided and I was back to my normal self.

In the second trimester we had a little bit of a scare with baby boy. When I had my 20 week ultrasound, they saw that there was a thickening in the baby's heart. While it often means nothing at all, this can also be a sign of a chromosomal abnormality. Needless to say we were a little freaked out. We prayed like crazy, went down to Denver, saw a specialist and had some additional blood work done. In the end  everything the specialist saw looked just fine and the blood work came back ok. The whole thing was a good reality check for me though. It was just a reminder that all the little, materialist things that seem so important really aren't at all.

Third trimester has been pretty textbook and now we're just waiting away. My official due date is June 5, but the doctor indicated that he kind of expected the baby to come the end of May. However, here we are, June 1 and still no sign of our little man. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty done with being pregnant. I finished nesting (we have the nursery mostly done, we bought a mini van, I planted flowers, I sold a bunch of stuff on craigslist, etc.) I don't feel horrible or anything like that. It's just a lot of work hauling this baby around in my tummy and chasing around two crazy little girls all the time.

So to keep my mind off of all the waiting, I've just been trying to keep us busy. We've been playing outside, going to the park and the pool and taking full advantage of the summer.

Now we wait.

The countdown chain is dwindling.

The finale to my big nesting weekend a couple weeks ago… bye-bye 4Runner (tear) and hello mini van (yep, I'm 100% mom now).

Practicing for baby brother…
