Cute as a Button

I have been so blessed by the friendship of an amazing girl the last couple years. Melissa and I went to middle school together and we reconnected at church right after Cameron was born. At the time she was pregnant with her little girl Madi. Over the last couple of years we have had so much fun sharing life together.

Well, Melissa just had her second baby girl, Makayla about a month ago. A few weeks before she was born I got to throw a shower for her! Of course I headed straight to Pinterest to get a few ideas. The result: a Cute as a Button themed shower!

I found these invitations as free printables on the On To Baby website. They turned out really cute.

Then we had some fun with the decorations. I, of course, forgot my nice camera the day of the shower so I wasn't able to get great pictures, but you'll get the general idea. We had really cute burlap runners with buttons that one of the girls made, button magnets that we used as party favors, a magnet board that then went home with Melissa for her to add to the nursery, and the cutest (and most delicious) button cake one of the girls made. As a gift for the baby, everyone filled out baby wish cards where we filled in the blanks to things like "I hope that you __________" and "I hope you never forget_______", etc.

The best part of the shower was honoring Melissa and baby with so many other wonderful ladies.

And this is sweet little Makayla that was born at the end of June. She is seriously so cute! She gave me a serious case of baby fever! :)
