Sydney is One!

Head: 46 centimeters

Holy heck! It's been a year already. A whole year since sweet Sydney came speeding into our lives. 12 whole months since we made an emergency trip to Children's Hospital in the middle of the night. I seriously can't believe it. I thought year one went fast with Cameron, well this past year went by at super speed. All I can think about is how grateful I am that God gave us such a sweet little girl. She is everything we could have hoped for and more.

We had Sydney's one year check and the doc had nothing but praise for us. She was especially impressed when I asked Sydney how old she was and she held up one finger (I don't think she actually knew what she was doing, but she sure did look smart!) Miss Sydney weathered three shots like a champ and rocked three Bugs Bunny band aids when we left the office. She is in the 56th percentile for weight, 72nd percentile for height and 79th percentile for head circumference.

So Sydney, what are you up to at one years old?

Your sleep schedule is slowly changing. You've been waking up about 6:00am, napping from 9:30-10:30am, napping again from 1:00-2:30 or 3:00pm and then going to bed about 6:45 or 7:00pm.
You are nursing 3 to 4 times a day, depending on how thing go and you're eating food just like a normal person now--breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You are wearing mostly 12 month clothes, with a few 18 month things thrown in here and there.
You still wear size 4 diapers.
You're walking like a champ, and even picking up the pace into a trot every once in awhile.
You are saying a few words, "mama", "dada", "hi" and "bye".
You LOVE to waive at people and say "hi", which means you make lots of friends everywhere you go.
You still sleep with a paci, but you are not super attached. You love you're little teddy lovie and always like to have that when you're falling asleep.
You love to climb up the stairs, and then you want to try to walk down like a big girl. You actually do a pretty good job.
You are cutting teeth like crazy right now. I'm not sure what the official count is, all I know is it seems like everyday I'm finding a new little tooth peaking through.
You are a big eater, and there really isn't anything that you don't like, although you're starting to put up a little bit of a fight when it comes to vegetables.
