Eight Months Old!

Sydney is Eight Months Old!

June 11, 2012
Weight: ~18 Pounds

This has been a big month for Sydney! She has changed so much and learned so many new things! It's been really fun to watch her. Ryan and I both tried weighing Sydney on our bathroom scale and after about 20 tries we're guessing she's about 18 pounds (we got everything between 17 and 18.5 pounds, guess it's hard to weight a wiggly little girl). Just as a comparison, Cameron was a little over 15 pounds at 8 months old. HA!

So Sydney, what are you up to at 8 months old?
  • You've adjusted to your new sleeping schedule really well and are back to being a fantastic sleeper. You go to sleep at about 6:30pm, sleep until between 6:00 and 6:30am. Take a nap again at 9:00am and noon. Sometimes you take a quick late afternoon nap around 3:30 or 4:00pm, but that's only once in awhile. You usually go down without any crying and stay asleep. It's fantastic!
  • I can't believe how much you love to eat! You are definitely you're mamma's daughter. :) Since last month we've added several new foods to your diet including: avocado, apple, peas, summer squash, apricots, ground turkey, and most recently cheerios. You love it all! You especially love feeding yourself cheerios. You could probably eat a whole pound of them if we let you. You still eat 2 solid food meals a day, but I'm thinking about adding one more in pretty soon.
  • You're still nursing 4 times a day: when you wake up, again at 10:30am, 2:00pm, and when you go to sleep.
  • Still in 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
  • You officially started crawling at the beginning of June. You like to crawl on your knees a lot, but you also like to bear crawl on your feet. It's a hoot.
  • You've also gotten really good at pushing yourself up into a seated position. AND you've started pulling up to your knees and feet in your crib. We had to lower your crib down a couple days ago.
  • You love playing with your sister. You follow her around all over the place and TRY to share her toys (although she's not always willing to share!)
  • You are loud! You love to talk and make a lot of noise.
  • You are super smiley and super happy.
  • You love to clap and "say" yay! When you're excited about something, or when we're acting excited about something.
  • You are SUPER busy! It's almost impossible to change your diaper because  you don't want to sit still for even a few seconds.
  • You love outlets, cords and the little doorstop thingys on the back of the door...none of which are very good for you to be playing with.
  • We have so enjoyed watching you learn and grow this month. In a few short weeks you have completely transitioned into a new stage of your development! You're not a little tiny baby anymore. You're getting to be a big girl! We love you sweet girl!
Had to include this picture...see what I mean when I say she's wiggly?!
