This Christmas was so much fun! The girls were old enough to really get what was going on and they completely got into all the traditions. I think it's safe to say we all really enjoyed it! Highlights from the Christmas season this year include:
Decorating the Christmas tree.
Dancing by the Christmas tree.
Elmer the Elf (on the Shelf) visiting. Cameron and Sydney really had fun with Elmer this year, every morning they would rush down to find him in his new spot.
Visiting Santa. Cameron wrote Santa a letter this year, she really wanted a purple, princess clock with bells on top (I have no idea where she came up with that! Good thing "Santa" was able to find one). Both girls were a little nervous to sit on Santa's lap. Cameron got up her courage and did it, Sydney however just kept saying "No Santa! No Santa!", so we finally compromised and Mommy sat on Santa's lap and Sydney sat on Mommy's lap. Poor Santa! HA
We made gingerbread houses, twice! Once with graham crackers, and once with a kit. This was the graham cracker go around.
Cameron had a little Christmas program at school. They sung a bunch of songs…it was very cute.
And then came the actual celebration! We, of course, left cookies and milk for Santa before we headed over to Papa and Mimi's house.
The girls had so much fun at Papa and Mimi's!
Then it was home to bed so Santa could come. On Christmas morning, the girls found Santa's sparkly footprints on the carpet and LOTS of presents under the tree.
(Santa came through with the princess clock!!)
Then Christmas afternoon we went over the river and through the woods to Superpop and Granne's house for some more fun.
All in all, it was a very fun and blessed Christmas season. We are so thankful for the gift of Baby Jesus, and the time we had to spend together as a family.
