Ten Months Old!

Sydney is Ten Months Old!

August 11, 2012

Last summer at this time I was starting to count down the weeks of my pregnancy. I was sick of it being so hot, because it meant I had to cut trips to the park short because this pregnant lady just couldn't handle it. I was daydreaming about the little girl that was kicking me in the ribs. What was she going to look like? What would her personality be like? But with about eight weeks left, the end was in sight! This year, I can't believe my baby is getting so close to being a year old. How on earth is she motoring around and starting to drive her sister crazy already?

So Sydney, what are you up to at ten months old?
  • You're sleeping schedule is just about the same: up at about 6:30am, naps at about 9:00am and 12:30pm, to bed about 6:30pm.
  • You wear mostly 12 month clothes, and size 3 diapers (sometimes size 4 when I'm lazy and put you in your sisters diapers).
  • You are BUSY! It's very difficult to get you dressed and change your diaper because you don't want to sit still. You are crawling all over the place, standing all by yourself and getting REALLY close to taking steps. You've taken a few mini steps, but I'm not officially counting those. You're walking really well when we hold your hands.
  • You love to eat out of a snack cup, but 50% of your snack flys out all over the place.
  • You took your first trip to Lake Tahoe this month.
  • You are still a big eater. You like beans, ground turkey, chicken, peas, squash, pretty much anything. However, there are several fruits you're not a huge fan of: cantaloupe, peaches, nectarines.
  • You have the sweetest laugh and cutest little smile.
  • You have a little teddy bear lovie that you like to snuggle with when you sleep.
  • You are still using a pacifier at night, during naps and during other down times.
  • You will crawl over to my feet and put your arms up so I'll pick you up. It's very sweet.
  • You drink water out of a sippy cup, and love it when you can get your hands on your sister's juice cups.
  • You've started to sign "more" and we're working on "all done".
  • You've taken an interest in our toys and love to pull things out of the toy box and off shelves.
  • You are a huge fan of "inspecting" drawers, cabinets, shelves, etc. (when I say inspecting I mean pulling every thing out of/off of).
  • Sydney, you are sweet, fun, happy and just such a great little baby! We love you so, so much!
And this montage will help you understand what exactly I mean when I say Miss Sydney is busy. :) (Click on it to blow it up bigger).

A Whole Bunch of Random

A couple weeks ago Ryan participated in an auction to benefit a local organization called A Women's Work. Basically he put together a event and people bid to buy his event. It was a live auction, so he actually got on stage and they called numbers until they got the highest bidder.

The girls and I went to the auction, after all we are the Ryan Volk fan club :). It was actually pretty fun, and Cameron was VERY impressed that her daddy got to stand up on stage. Sydney actually went up on stage with daddy when it was his turn, which was pretty cool. When we left Cameron kept saying, "Go Daddy's show again?"

This was his auction card...isn't he handsome??!

The other day a friend and I took our kiddos to the zoo. This is what Cameron wanted to wear...her tutu OVER her dress. Classy!

Ryan was outside grilling food for dinner and both of the girls were plastered against the door waiting for him to come in. So precious.

A few weeks ago I started a new business adventure, I am now a Norwex Independent Sales Consultant (more on that later). Cameron has been very impressed with the Norwex mop and had been helping me clean the like crazy.

Cameron found our wedding video the other day. No joke, we've watched it about 20 times in the last few days. She LOVES it. She says, "I want to watch Mommy's dress again, it's my favorite!" Every time she points out everyone in the video... Superpop, Granne, Papa, Mimi, Uncle Ross, Nick, Annie, Aunt Mac, Jenna, etc. If you think about it, it's probably pretty cool for her to watch all of the people she knows on TV. Anyway, this is a short video of her enjoying the music in the video.

Our little Olympian! My mom came to Cameron's swimming lessons the other day and she came bearing gifts... gold metals! Only appropriate considering that the Olympics is going on. Cameron wore her metal with pride. :)

Leave it to my crazy girl to pick out an outfit like this. HA

We went to the Bounce Town in Longmont the other day. Sydney thought it was pretty cool to play on the toys while her big sister was busy bouncing. She is getting so big!

Today is my Grandma and Grandpa Summers' anniversary. I think it's 63 years! (Is that right Grandma?) It's so awesome to see a couple who has been married for so long, what an encouragement! Happy Anniversary!

Miss Sydney's Cruising!

Look at this cutie cruising around! She's going to be walking before we know it! (Don't mind the face plant at the end...she was fine :) HA)

I love how Cameron is standing there cheering and clapping for her! What a good big sister.

The Fair

We took the girls to the Boulder County Fair on Saturday. The fair grounds are really close to our house so it was perfect. Highlights for Cameron were the pony ride and seeing a goat poop. HAHA go figure. :)

Leave it to my husband to find this belt in the middle of the fair :)...

The Zoo

Earlier this summer the Denver Zoo opened a brand new elephand habitat. It was a huge project that took several years to complete, but it is awesome! The best part is the elephant show they do a couple times a day. We saw it for the first time last week. I was so impressed and Cameron couldn't stop talking about it. They have the elephant eat apples and celery and then they have him get in the water and swim. So cool!

After seeing the show I couldn't wait to take Ryan so he could see it too, so we decided to ditch church on Sunday and take a family trip to the zoo. The elephant decided not to swim, so the show wasn't quite as cool, but we still had a blast.
