Father's Day - Twenty13

First of all I have to say I'm am so lucky to have the most amazing father's in my live. My three living grandfathers (Grandpa Summers, Grandpa Schwarz and Grandpa Volk), my wonderful father-in-law, my amazing Dad, and of course, my incredible and totally amazing husband. I'm truly blessed by you all! Thank you for everything you do and everything you are to our family.

We actually had a pretty great Father's Day this year. We got Ryan a fancy pen with is name engraved on it and Cameron and Sydney made him a HUGE card.

This was the girls carefully working on their card for daddy. We must have just gotten out of the bathtub, (the usually aren't running around naked!) HA

Then we made a trip down to IKEA...just for fun. We ate in the cafeteria and then walked around and shopped. The girls had a blast testing out all the couches, chairs and beds. I'm surprised they didn't kick us out, HA!

On the way home Cameron saw this little pond and asked if we could stop and play. We didn't really have anything else to do, so we parked and went to check out the pond. I was SO glad we did because we saw a ton of tiny little ducklings and goslings! They were so cute and the girls thought they were pretty cool.

We were pretty tuckered out after a long day, but we had a lot of fun spending time together as a family and honoring the most wonderful Daddy in the world...my babies daddy! :)

Summer Time!

Those of you who know me know that I LOVE summer. Everything about it makes me smile--warm weather (even HOT weather), sunshine, longer days, playing outside, swimming, running...I could go on and on!

We kicked off the summer with a perfect Memorial Day weekend and have been going strong ever since. I bought a baby pool at the store randomly on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Then our neighbors gave us the slide for this sweet water slide setup! The girls were stoked.

We, of course, had to have our friends come over and swim.

And then we made homemade ice cream for all our neighborhood friends... yum!

Monday night some of our other neighbors invited us over for a little party. There were a whole bunch of older kids there and Cameron desperately wanted to play with them. She dribbled her heart out for awhile on the side then planted herself down to watch all the big kids play hoops. Soon my little one, soon you'll be schooling all the boys on the b-ball court...just like your Mommy once did!

While Cameron was busy watching the basketball game, Sydney found the puppies. Daddy, I think you're in trouble, if it's up to this little one there will be a puppy in our backyard by the end of the summer! HA

The weekend after Memorial Day Ryan & I ran the Berthoud 5K, and Cameron ran her very own 1K race. She LOVES to run so I was really excited to sign her up for this. She did great. It was definitely hard for her, but she ran/walked the whole thing by herself! She was pretty excited when there were so many people cheering for her at the finish line! I was very proud of my little runner.

Later that weekend we got out the sand table and the girls had a ball. I won't go into too many details, but you can see...they got a little crazy! HA

This is a cute picture of Sydney at the park. Not quite sure when it was...

There is this Food Truck/Concert in the park thing near our house on Monday nights. Last summer Sydney went to bed at 6:30pm every night so we were never able to go check it out. Well we decided to try it out a couple weeks ago and it was a lot of fun! Sydney found this railing and was swinging away on it. She's pretty darn strong!

Little flip flop girl.

Sydney is such a funny kid. She's been really into sitting in the baby doll strollers lately. HA

A couple weeks ago Cameron suddenly started drawing faces. Now she draws "Funny Faces" all the time.

This is a little random, but my dad took a trip with my Grandpa, and a bunch of other WW2 veterans to DC to see the memorial. This is a picture they sent us.

I saw this golden doodle puppy at the park and couldn't believe how stinkin' cute it was! Seriously it was like a stuffed animal. There was actually two of them. Oh my goodness, I WANT ONE!

Here's Cameron climbing the rocket ship at the park. So fun.

Vacation!

My dad hit a very important milestone a few weeks ago... he celebrated the 39th anniversary of his 21st birthday! (a.k.a he turned 60!) For his birthday we all go to go on an cruise. The cruise left out of Jacksonville, FL and then made three stops in the Bahamas. It was perfect. Two of the three stops were cruise islands, so they had amazing kid friendly beaches and the third stop was in Nassau, so we got to do a little shopping. The best part of the whole trip was we got to go visit our friends the Solomon's in Florida before and after the cruise. They recently built a new (AMAZING) beach house on Amelia Island, which is right outside of Jacksonville, so it worked out perfectly.

I think my mom summed up the cruise nicely in a text to my aunt, "Rough start, Ryan sick then Cameron sick, but after that lots of fun. Cameron hot tub queen and Sydney dancing queen!"

Ryan and Cameron got some kind of bug at the beginning of the cruise, so they spent a couple days quarantined to our room. Luckily, they were both feeling much better by the first island stop, so we were able to get of the boat and have some fun. Here's the photo summary...

This sweet man asked Cameron to dance. She was a little nervous, but she loved it!

Granne and Superpop

For my dad's birthday we made him a book of messages from all his family and frineds. It was really cool. Every night we gave him a few pages of the book to read (because I'm a slacker and didn't finish getting the whole printed in time). This is the night Cameron and Sydney gave him their pages.

This was the yummy dessert I got for Mother's Day

We had fun towel animals in our room every night. (Don't be fooled, this picture was in Granne and Superpop's room, our room was a little smaller!)

I'm pretty sure Jenna got yelled at for taking this picture! HA

The first stop. Isn't that beach perfect?

More playing in the sand.

I love my sweet family.

Every night at the wait staff did a little "show" for us. The girls loved it and wanted to get up and dance with them every night. This was our server Santos. He was from Honduras and was awesome!

Another picture with Santos

Sydney the dancing queen. I seriously wish I had a video of this night. Sydney was a crack up. She LOVED dancing. She kept grabbing my hand and making me come dance with her. Then she would go get daddy. So cute!

Smiley baby girl on our balcony one morning while we were waiting for Daddy and Cameron to wake up. She was digging the Lucky Charms! Ha

This picture was taken in the straw market in Nassau. The girls had just gotten new purses and they were telling this guy all about it. HA!

Starbucks really is EVERYWHERE!

Daddy and Cameron playing around.

Silly Auntie Jenna.

Sweet Cameron.

This was a cute shot that my sister took of us.

Cameron was busy checking out the map with Granne and Superpop so she wasn't in our picture.

Cameron checking out the boat with Daddy.

The purses that the girls got.

Water slide on the boat. The girls went down this thing hundreds of times! Cameron really wanted to go on the bigger slide in the background, but she was too short. I told her she had to get bigger to ride on that slide. So the next day she said, "Mommy, I'm bigger now, can I go on the big slide??" HA silly girl! Cameron also discovered the hot tub and LOVED the "warm swimming pool!"

Formal night

What a handsome guy

Silly kid!

Sydney loved filling up these toys with water.

The last morning of the cruise. We all played pretty hard, I think we needed a vacation from our vacation!

Here's Sydney chowing on bacon. My girls LOVE bacon. That was pretty much the only thing they ate for breakfast.

Cameron had a ball telling Mr. Bob all about our cruise when we got back to their house the last day.

Sydney petting Miss Regina's turtle.

Cameron walking on the beach.

More playing in the sand.

Look at that stud muffin!

Downward Dog, what else are you supposed to do on the beach???

Cameron checking out Mr. Bob's shrimp. You never really think about what shrimp look like when you're not eating them, they're kinda ugly!

Sisters :)

Happy Birthday Superpop! We had so much fun celebrating with you. Thank you so much for everything! And Mr. Bob and Regian, thank you so much for showing us your beautiful new home. It was SO wonderful to see you!

Here are the professional cruise photos.
