Horsetooth Half

I love running! I really do. Every time I have the opportunity to get out I come back feeling totally energized. I had a really awesome opportunity this spring, I got to train for a half marathon with a couple amazing girlfriends. It was so, so, so much fun.

The race was the Horsetooth Half Marathon in Fort Collins on April 21. This is the race profile, ummm can you say HOLY HILLS!

It's funny because I was in total denial about the hills. We were doing a training run a few weeks before the race and we ran a couple hills and I was like, "Well I'm sure the actual race won't be as bad as this," to which my friends were like, "well, I'm pretty sure they are worse." THEY WERE RIGHT! Yikes!

None the less the race was AWESOME! I had so much fun. As soon as we finished I was hitting them up to do another one. HA. Here are a few pictures of us sporting our "sparkle"!

Before the race...

At about mile 8 all our hubbies and kiddos were waiting for us at the top of the last big hill. It was so awesome to have a little cheering section! Cameron had just gotten new running shoes and she was SO EXCITED to wear them to the race, just like mommy. :)

And of course the after pictures...look we're all smiling! I think that means we need to do another one girls! ;)

Yay for running, yay for summer when running can happen more easily and more often! Yay for fun races. :)

Baylor Nation

When we were in Texas visiting Nick and Annie, Ryan and I decided to take a couple days and head down to Waco to visit Baylor campus. Neither of us have been back in a LONG time, so we thought it would be fun to take the girls and see all of the changes they have made. I have to say I was very impressed. Baylor is a REALLY nice university. I'm glad I can call myself a Baylor Bear!

Thomas and Christi were on the Baylor Crew team with me. They live in Waco now and have three beautiful kiddos. While we were in Waco we met up with them and walked around campus one morning. It was great having our own personal tour guides sense they are up to date on everything that's going on there. It was so fun to catch up and meet their kiddos.

Monday night while we were there we got together with my other friend Gina and her hubby and baby girl. Gina used to work with me at The Creative Alliance and ended up moving just south of Waco when her husband got a job there. It was so fun seeing them.

Ryan and I definitely felt like we could have spend more time in Waco. There was so much to see (and eat, HA!) and we ran out of time to do it all. Maybe we'll have to make another trip for homecoming. :)

Aren't these two a crack up??! They seriously keep me laughing all the time. HA :)

Fun in Texas!

Holy cow, life has been CRAZY for us the last few weeks (ok, months really). I cannot believe I haven't updated our blog in so long! We've had a lot of really fun and exciting things happen. So buckle your seat belts, some major update blogging is coming over the next day or so!

Ok, so rewind a couple months to the end of March. We took a family trip to Texas to see Nick and Annie and the kiddos for Easter and took a quick two day trip down to Waco to visit Baylor and to see a couple of our friends in that area. The trip was a blast, minus a little bug that got us for a day or so--Ryan, Sydney and I had a few tummy issues :-(. However we were lucky the yuckies passed quickly. We had such a good time playing at the park, hanging out, eating :), more playing at the park, going on adventures, eating Easter candy, etc. etc.

Cameron and Sydney had SO MUCH FUN playing with Cole and Finley. They went through major withdraw when we had to go home.

One night while we were there we got a baby sitter so we could go out with just the grown ups. We love our kiddos, but it's always nice to have a little bit of a break.

Easter was fun. The kids are starting to be big enough to get holidays. The Easter bunny came to fill baskets and hide a bunch of eggs in the house. The kids were amazed at what they found when the woke up.

Cole was SO EXCITED about his Transformers Lego's that he got from the Easter bunny. I'm pretty sure Annie heard him up in his room at 3:00am playing with them! HA

We went to church with Nick and Annie, which was really nice. Everyone looked so nice all dressed up!

After church we went to an Easter egg hunt at a friends house. The house was AMAZING! And they had a blow up castle so, again, the kids were in heaven.

Monday after Easter we went down to Waco for a few days. More on that to come.

We had so, so, so, so much fun with Nick and Annie. We wish we could see them more often. But for now trips every couple months and Facetime is just going to have to do!

Thanks Nick and Annie for letting us stay with you!!!
