Updates

A couple updates:

Sydney got a new apron. Cameron has a matching one, but I haven't had a chance to get a picture of both of them together.

The girls got to hang out with their buddy Madi.

The three girls drew a masterpiece with our new window crayons (which are pretty darn cool by the way).

Sydney learned how to climb UP the slide!

We went to our friend Ethan's first birthday party.

And the girls got to take a shot at breaking this pinata...umm yeah, slightly creepy right?? But also pretty hilarious! And a little dangerous! HA

Needless to say, the daddies had to help with breaking this sucker!

And no party is complete without cupcakes!

We also had a snow storm... and blew bubbles outside. Ummmm yeah, I KNOW! But sometimes, you just go with the flow. :)

And then we decided to make snow ice cream (which was gross, but the girls thought it was exciting).

Auntie Jenna got a new car...and Sydney practiced her driving.

ValenTINE's Day

Squished into the middle of Cameron's birthday week was Valentine's day. I guess that's part of the reason Cameron's birthday week always seems so eventful! We didn't do anything overly exciting for Valentine's Day.

The Saturday before, Papa and Mimi took Cameron on a special birthday outing to the WOW Children's Museum and then she got to spend the night with them. And Superpop and Granne took Sydney overnight. So Ryan and I got to have a date night. We ran some errands, just the two of us (I know, so romantic!) and then went out to dinner, so I guess you could say that was our Valentine's celebration.

On actual Valentine's Day, the girls got some goodies, and Cameron got to go to school and have a Valentine's party. We painted little Valentine's cards for all the kids in her class. It totally brought me back to my elementary school days. :) Granne came and hung out with Sydney while Cameron was at school.

Then we had a festive lunch.

I got Ryan these fun Mr. and Mrs. mugs. They have a bible verse from the Song of Solomon on the inside: "I found the one my heart loves."

And he got me flowers and YUMMY chocolates! (He did REALLY good!)

The Big Three

Miss Cameron is 3! I can't believe it! Of course, I say that all the time so let's just move on. :) Cameron had so much fun celebrating her birthday this year. I think she has finally reached the point where she fully appreciates what birthdays are all about. She talked about it for months leading up to the big day, and when February 13th finally rolled around she was ready! Luck for her, we are pretty serious about birthdays at our house so we basically had a week long celebration for her. (This birthday mentality might have stemmed from her mother who spent months counting down to her birthday every year grown up. But what's wrong with that, right? Just saying ;)).

Anyway, we kicked off the day opening a few presents...

Then it was off to BSF for the morning. I baked birthday cookies for all the kiddos in her BSF class and they sang happy birthday to her. Very cute.

Here's the big 3 year old sporting her new fancy shades.

After BSF we headed home to take naps before the next phase of birthday excitement commenced. When she woke up from her nap, Cameron had some special visitors waiting for her, Superpop and Granne! And of course they came bearing gifts!

As Cameron would say, "Superpop is funny!"

Then it was dinner time. I made Fettuccine with Bacon, Chicken, Alfredo sauce. It was really good! I figured it was noodle based so Cameron should love it, right? Nope, she wouldn't even try the sauce. Geeze! This kid is so picky. She definitely does not get that from me! Oh well, she ate her body weight in noodles, so I think she was pleased.

Then it was time for her next surprise visitors...Papa and Mimi! And they, of course, came bearing more gifts! So fun.

Then it was time for the biggest surprise of all. We paraded Cameron (and Sydney and Papa and Mimi and Mommy and Daddy!) down to the basement where she found her very own "bouncy thing" (a.k.a. a trampoline)! Ummm yeah, she was pretty stoked!

After a little bouncing we had a birthday treat, Jello with birthday candles. (I know Jello is a little weird, BUT we already had cookies that morning and I was making cupcakes for her party, so I figured jello=easy=yummy...done!)

Saturday after her birthday we had Cameron's birthday party. We had it at a place called Bounce! Basically it's this huge room with a whole bunch of bouncy castles. The kids were in heaven!

Sydney LOVED the doughnuts! We gave her one and then she kept going back to the table to ask for more. Now THAT sounds like my kid. ;)

These are a few of Cameron's best little buddies, Bella and Riley. They both live in our neighborhood.

Sweet Miss Madi, she looks like a little angel in this picture!

And this is our little friend Ryan. She just turned one a couple months ago and she was so excited that she figured out how to do this little slide all by herself! Isn't she cute?

Mason, Mikaela and Mimi. Some of you might remember seeing pictures of Cameron and Mason rolling around on the floor playing together when they were tiny! Now they're both 3. Yikes!

And then we had birthday cupcakes. Daddy was the master of the fire.

This was my attempt at rainbow cupcakes. I wouldn't exactly say they turned out looking like rainbows, but they were multicolored and yummy so I'd say they were a success. Sydney seemed to like them! HA!

Cameron had requested Minnie Mouse cupcakes. I ran out of time to actually decorate the cupcakes like Minnie Mouse, so this sign was the replacement.

And don't forget about the presents. Yes Cameron made out pretty well. She is so luck to have such nice friends!

I think it's safe to say the kids had fun at the party. This was Sydney seconds after we put her into the car. She was tuckered out!

I think it's only appropriate that Cameron, our bouncy, little Tigger kiddo, had a bouncy themed birthday this year! We are so lucky to have such a fun, bouncy little girl.

We love you Toots! Your Daddy and I are so, so thankful that God has given you to us. You are growing up to be such a wonderful little girl and we are very proud of you. You are the perfect combination of sweet and sassy! You keep us on our toes, that's for sure, but that's just what make you, you. Kisses, Mommy
