Father's Day

I am so blessed to be married to the most wonderful man in the entire world...and it just so happens that he is a terrific father too. It's been awesome watching him step into the daddy role, he's such a natural.

For Father's Day yesterday we went to brunch with Ryan's dad and mom and then we came home and Ryan watched golf/napped while I caught up on some stuff around the house. Then we decided to go out for dinner and had some yummy burgers at Red Robin.

Ryan has been talking about getting a new mountain bike for a long time now. But with all the expenses that come along with buying a new house, forking over a gazillion dollars for a new bike isn't really an option. However I know he loves riding, so for Father's Day Cameron and I decided to start his new bike fund. I know it's not as good as getting him an actual bike, but at least it's a tangible start.

We made him his very own bike fund piggy bank and started to load it with cash. Now hopefully we'll be able to keep filling up the bank so he can be riding a new bike before too long.

Silly girl!

InfoComm 2011

The trade show that we were attending in Orlando is called InfoComm. It's the big show for the ProAV (professional audio-visual) industry. There was probably around 35,000 people attending the week long event. The big part of the event is the three day expo from Wednesday through Friday. Hundreds of companies set up booths featuring their products and services. It's pretty crazy how much time, money and energy goes into these things, but I guess it's valuable because people continue to show up every year.

2011 marks USAV's 10 year anniversary, so we had a lot going on during the show. An anniversary party for our partners on Tuesday night, a booth at the expo, a treasure hunt for our dealers, advertisements, etc. All in all, I think I would have to say the show was a success. There were a few hiccups along the way (which from what I gather is pretty much par for the course), but the party was well attended, our booth looked great, a lot of people participated in the treasure hunt and our advertising looked pretty sharp.

Our banner, it was huge...16' x 27'

While my dad and I were hard at work, Cameron and Granne were having a lot of fun.

By the end of the week we were all exhausted. Cameron from all the playing, Granne from all the babysitting, and me and my dad from all the work. I was happy that I was able to spend Saturday morning with Cameron at the pool. She is such a hoot! Swimming at the pool is definitely her new favorite thing to do.

Here are a few other fun Cameron pictures.

I think that the one thing I realized after working so much this week is that I'm really thankful that I don't have to work full time. It was really hard leaving Cameron all day every day, not to mention by the time I was done in the evening I was tired. I'm so thankful that I have the opportunity to work part time...and from home. That's the perfect mix of the professional world and the mommy world.

The Happiest Place on Earth

Last week was another long and exhausting week. USAV (the company I work for part time) was exhibiting at a big industry trade show in Orlando and, as the marketing person, I was responsible for coordinating all of the "stuff" for the show. It actually works out pretty well. I work for my dad, so he was already going on the trip, so all I had to do was convince my mom to tag along. That way I could bring Cameron and she and Granne could hangout while my dad and I were working. Granne was happy to take on the babysitting job, so we were all set.

We all flew out together on Sunday morning. For those of you who follow this blog, you know that Cameron isn't really the best of flyers because she is so darn busy she never calms down enough to fall asleep. WELL, apparently my dad had the magic touch. He had some big headphones that Cameron used to watch movies and listen to music. Those headphones were pure magic because they helped her calm down enough to zonk out and she slept for a good part of the flight. Yay!

I'll get into a little more detail on the work portion of the trip later, but for now I want focus on the the most exciting part of the trip...we got to go to Disney World!

Monday we took a play day and my mom, dad, Cameron and I went to Magic Kingdom. It was AWESOME! We had a blast. I know Cameron probably won't remember a lot of it, but she had a great time. She loved the rides, the people, the food, the performances and all the cool Disney loot that Superpop and Granne got for her. We stayed at the park for a good part of the morning and early afternoon, then went back to the hotel for a nap and dinner before heading back to the park for the light show and fireworks.

I definitely see why this place has been coined The Happiest Place on Earth!

Relaxing in Breckenridge

Several months ago I booked a week long "staycation" for us up in Breckenridge. At the time I had no idea the week would end up conflicting with our moving weekend. But I think it ended up being a blessing in disguise. Ryan, Cameron and I were all extremely exhausted from the craziness of moving. Being away from everything and having the chance to rest and relax up in the mountains was great.

We headed up to the mountains on Monday afternoon and came back Friday morning. The time in between was pretty much spent sleeping, eating, hanging out at the pool, shopping and walking. Ryan even got the chance to head out on his bike a few times. It was really, really nice.

Cameron and Daddy playing in the pool

There was a great view from the pool

Cameron LOVED helping us push the elevator buttons

 Checking out the water

Heading out for a little hike

On the hike Cameron was styling in her hat, sunglasses, converse and her tied sweatshirt

Cameron had a blast "hiking", she thought the pine cones were pretty cool...and the dirt!
