A Special Message

This is a special message for Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Summers:

Dear GGrandpa and GGrandma,

I had so much fun last year when I got to come visit you in New Jersey that I asked my mommy if I could come again...and she said yes! So as long as it's okay with you, Mommy, Aunt Jenna, Gma and I are going to come visit April 16 - 19. I am so excited about the trip. Can't wait to see you!

Love,
Cameron

P.S. Make sure to tell Uncle Ray, Aunt Anne, Uncle Bobby, Aunt Patty and Aunt Mac that I'm coming too. I hope I get to see everyone.

Walking

Cameron is getting much more confident with her walking. Every day she gets better and better.

1st Birthday Party

Sunday afternoon we had a little birthday party for Cameron. It was so much fun! She really likes playing with other kids, so it was fun to have a few of her friends over. Cameron still isn't all that interested in opening presents, but she did like playing with them once they were opened. The big hit was the baby stroller that she got. She loves it! She really didn't get too into smashing the birthday cake. I think she was starting to get tired so I'm sure the whole thing was a little overwhelming for her.

Me and my sweet one year old.

Opening presents, Beau and Mikaela were very helpful!

 The birthday cake.

We ended up moving Cameron into my lap since she wasn't very happy in her chair.

The aftermath, notice baby's head is covered in frosting!

 Cleaning up.

I printed out pictures of Cameron every month and hung them up so everyone could see her progress.

Here's a video of Cameron "eating" her first birthday cake:

Happy Birthday Peanut! We hope you had a wonderful first birthday. We love you very much.

One Year Old!

Cameron is One!
February 13, 2011
Weight: 17.5 pounds
Length: TBD
Head: TBD

Wow, I can't believe it...our baby girl is one! Our life is so different today than it was a year ago, but it is totally incredible. We are very grateful that God has blessed us with Cameron. She is such a sweet little girl and we love watching her grow. I can honestly say that every day is more fun than the last. Every new phase is exciting and keeps us on our toes.

Our one year doctor appointment isn't until March (apparently calling 5 weeks out to make an appointment isn't soon enough!). So, I took Cameron's weight on my own with our bathroom scale today and I'm just going to wait to until March to get her other measurements. By my calculations, she's in the 4.5 percentile for weight.

So Cameron, what are you up to at one year old?
  • You've started walking! You took your first few steps about a week ago and you continue to get more and more confident every day.
  • You are a great eater and now you can eat most everything we eat.
  • You have started weaning from breastfeeding now that you're one, but you are not a fan of milk, so that is causing a bit of a problem.
  • You LOVE your baby doll. You pick her up and cuddle with her and often carry her around with you when you play.
  • You went snowshoeing with us in the mountains.
  • You've started giving hugs.
  • You sing along with me when I sing "Baba Black Sheep".
  • You've gotten really good at waiving bye-bye, but you don't always do it.
  • You watched your first movie, Finding Nemo. You were very fascinated by it and thought that it was pretty funny.
  • You learned to reverse down the stairs all by yourself.
  • Your hair is growing, it's hanging over your ears.
  • You got two more teeth—your two eyeteeth—and it wasn't exactly a smooth process. We spent a couple nights up with you and utilized children's Tylenol for a couple days.
  • You love to talk to your daddy on the phone and get upset if he doesn't talk to you (and only talks to mommy).
  • You like to pay catch with the ball. You throw/roll it to us and then we roll it back and you pick it up and do it again. Our little athlete is starting to bloom!
  • Happy 1st Birthday Toots! We love you, and we are so thankful for you.
Just for fun, here's Cameron's last 12 months:

Steps!

This has been a very exciting week for Cameron, she took her first steps and she got two new teeth! She hasn't mastered the whole walking thing yet, but she is getting a little more confident everyday. We'll see if she's full out walking by her first birthday...you've got 5 more days Toots, go Cameron go!

We've been trying desperately to get a good video of Cameron taking a few steps, but we haven't had much luck. This is the best video I've gotten so far. You can see a few short steps in the beginning, then she gets interested in watching the Super Bowl! Ha

Ready to MOVE on

Well, it's official, we're selling our condo! We put it on the market this week. We worked really hard cleaning, decluttering and staging to make it look "pretty" for all those potential buyers out there. We had our first showing Friday night which was exciting. Didn't hear anything, so that means the people were probably not interested, but at least we have one showing under our belt. We are just praying that the right buyer comes along soon. I can already tell it's going to be a challenge keeping our condo spick-and-span so that we're ready whenever we get a call for a showing.

Why are we selling our condo? We're just ready to move onto to something a little bigger and something with a backyard. Now that Cameron's getting bigger, we're realizing that a little extra space will be nice. Who knows what's going to happen and when though. It's in the Lords hands at this point. We just have to be patient and wait for His timing.

So, if you know of someone who is in the market for a nice condo on the northeast side of Longmont, send them our way!

Here are a few pictures of our spruced up place, if you ask me it looks pretty darn nice! If you want to check out the pictures the realtor took you can click here to look at the realtor.com website.

And of course we can not forget about Miss Cameron. This was a picture of her "helping" me clean up the day of the pictures. She really enjoyed playing with all of the random stuff we had out!

Breckenridge

We spent last weekend up in Breckenridge with our family friends the Solomons and we had a great time! Ryan actually skied at Copper Mountain with some friends on Friday, then I picked him up and we headed over to Breckenridge at the end of the day. Ryan and I both skied on Saturday, although not at the same time. I skied in the morning and he skied in the afternoon. I really enjoyed it even though I was all by myself. The weather was really nice (not cold which I hate) so it was a perfect day for me.

The only downside of the weekend was Cameron had a really rough night Friday night. She has two new teeth coming in and she was up crying on and off all night. Poor baby! I didn't have any Tylenol with me, so there was really nothing much that I could do but rock her and try to calm her down. When her first two teeth came in she had the stomach bug, so we never really got to see how she reacted, now we know. Hopefully all her teeth don't hurt as much.

Every year Breckenridge has a snow sculpture competition and this years happened to be last weekend. It was really cool to walk around downtown and see the different designs that people come up with. Some of them were really intricate.

I think this was my favorite sculpture, it's kind of hard to see, but it was really neat.

This one was called "Marco Polo" like the game you played in the pool as a kid.

The tentacles on the octopus were really cool on this sculpture.

This is a fat kid with a hot dog...yeah I know, weird and kind of disturbing.

This one was cool, looks like a princess dress.

My sweet sleepy girl.

 There's Mr. Bear's nose.

A few seconds before I took this picture Cameron was in the cubby...I was just too slow with the camera.
