Family Time

Sunday after Christmas we went to Ryan's Uncle Dave and Aunt Georgine's house for some family time. A bunch of his cousins were there and my mom and dad joined us too which was a lot of fun. Cameron had a good time playing with everyone. Ryan's cousin Nichole has two little ones Brady and Kinsley, I guess they would be her first cousin once removed...does that sound right? It starts to get kind of confusing!

Cameron with Grandma and Superpop, look how grown up she looks in her new vest from Grandpa and Grandma Summers!

The kiddos having a little powwow, I don't think Brady was thrilled that everyone else was playing with his new bike! But he was a good sport and shared anyway.

Annie and Ross playing with little Kinsley

Cameron jamming out on the piano!

Brady showing Cameron how to play the mole game.

She already knows to go for the Aces... good girl!

Taking a spin on the bike.

Christmas Day

We went over to my mom and dad's house on Christmas day.

The first thing we saw when we walked in the door was this Cameron sized table that Santa brought for Superpop and Grandma's house...

After checking out the new table we had dinner and then got settled for some present opening...

Santa brought Cameron her very own cell phone...

And a new book...

And another phone (can you tell she has a slight obsession with phones?)...

And a talking piggy bank (she had a temporary meltdown while we tried to show her how the piggy bank worked!)...

Daddy got Cameron some Carhartt overalls...

Cameron never really got into ripping the wrapping paper off of gifts, maybe next year...

We all got fun hats from Aunt Mac and Uncle Bob...

Aunt Jenna made Cameron Regina the Elephant complete with different outfits...

Ryan got GW's new book...

After we finished up with all the gifts, Cameron climbed up the stairs a couple times...

Then it was time to go home...

Cameron's new poncho from Papa and Mimi gave her an awesome hairdo in the car...

When we got home we surveyed the damage. I think Cameron made out pretty well this year! This doesn't even include all the non-toy items she got. She's a very luck girl.

I think it's fair to say that our first Christmas with Cameron was one of the best we've ever had. We had so much fun spending time with our families and we were so spoiled by all the wonderful gifts that we received. Most of all we are thankful for the greatest gift of all, the birth of baby Jesus.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Morning

And this is how Christmas morning happened at the Volk house:

Cameron got up and patiently waited for everyone else to get out of bed...

Then we went out to see what Santa brought...

Cameron was very impressed with her airplane...

And all of the cool things she got in her stocking...

Then Cameron realized that we had put her new walking toy together and she started motoring around...

She got a new puppy named Eloise...

And Daddy got a cordless drill...

Then Cameron took her plane for a spin...

And Mommy took the plane for a spin too (notice the beautiful necklace that I got from my wonderful husband!)...

Then little Toots went down for a nap and we had eggs and cinnamon rolls for breakfast...yummy!

Christmas Eve

I made ginger boy and girl cookies in the morning while Ryan played golf with the boys (it's not what you're thinking, those are belly buttons on the boys!)...

Then before church Cameron got to open her first Christmas present, Christmas jammies!...

Then we left cookies out for Santa, Cameron wasn't too sure about the whole process...

"So, I'm supposed to do what with this cookie?"

"Okay I got it, put it on the plate for Santa."

"But Mommy, the cookies look really good."

"And they have chocolate chips, yum!"

"Maybe I'll just have a little taste."

"What? Come on I don't think Santa will mind."

"Okay, fine. I'll leave them for Santa, like a good girl."

We went to church at Life Bridge with all of Ryan's family and then we went to Papa and Mimi's house for dinner...

And after dinner Cole and Cameron got their jammies on...

Then the present opening began...

We gave Cole a backpack...

And this toy was definitely Cameron's favorite...

Before we left to go home, Cameron spent a little time reorganizing Papa's books...

All in all, it was a great day!
