Happy Birthday Jenna!

Today is my little sister's birthday, YAY! She is such a unique and wonderful person, a fabulous nurse, a very talented craftster and a extremely caring person. We are blessed to have her as part of our family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNA!

(I intended to just get one good picture of Cameron with her sign, but she kept eating the sign, so I finally decided a picture progression was in order.)

Hope you have a wonderful day Jenna!

New Accomplishments

I think it's fair to say that Cameron has gotten really good at pulling up to her knees and feet...crazy kid. This weekend we found her standing up in her crib several times (we did finally drop the mattress down to a lower level), she pulled up on her toy baskets to look at her toys, she climbed up a few stairs all by her self at Grammy and Grandpa's house, she helped me load the dishwasher and found the strainers in one of the kitchen cabinets. Here are a few pictures to document her new accomplishments.

On Friday night we went to the zoo for a work event with one of the the companies that Ryan works with. It was really neat. We basically had the zoo all to ourselves and we got to ride on the merry-go-round.

Usually, Cameron is a champ at taking naps. We can just set her in her crib and before we know it she's passed out. But every once in awhile it takes her a little bit to wind down before she can sleep, so she'll roll around and play for awhile before she falls asleep. This weekend Ryan decided that it would be a good idea to help her calm down by showing her how to nap. As you can guess he complete passed out on the floor...but it worked, Cameron fell asleep too!

Up On Her Feet

Oh my goodness, Cameron is becoming a big girl! I can't believe it, she's pulling up to her feet and standing all by her self now! Yikes, we're going to have to be careful. Good thing she's so little so if she falls there isn't a long way to the ground.

This was her a few nights ago, pulling up so she could look into her toy basket.

And this is how I found her when I went in to get her after her nap today! She pushed up to her feet a few seconds after she was on her knees. We're definitely going to need to lower the mattress in her bed soon.

Cameron's really into chewing on EVERYTHING...including the camera cap.

Jamming out with the piano while I was working on the computer.

The Week in Review

Happy Monday to everyone! I can't believe that we're already in the second half of September, what happened to the summer? I'm just glad that the weather hasn't really started getting cold yet.

We had a very exciting and busy week last week. Here's the 10 second rundown:

Monday: Cameron turned 7 months old
Tuesday: We started MOPS in Boulder
Wednesday: I started Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) on Isaiah
Thursday: Grandma and Superpop came over for a couple hours
Friday: Ryan left for the church men's retreat
Saturday: I went out and Cameron stayed with my parents
Sunday: We went to church came home and took a nap

Here's Cameron practicing her soccer skills, just like her daddy (Ryan's playing in a fall soccer league right now).

Saturday morning it was a little cold outside, but Cameron and I bundled up and went for a run.

She found the wine while she was exploring...yikes!

Helping Mommy with her work.

This was the view from our patio one night last week. Isn't it beautiful? I think the smoke from the fires helped the colors stand out, which probably isn't a good thing, but it still looked pretty.

Gerber Baby

I'm a nerdy mommy and I entered Cameron in the Gerber Generation Photo Contest. I didn't realize that it was one of those things where people vote and the baby with the most votes is the winner, but that's how it's set up.

SO, that means that everyone needs to go vote for Cameron because OF COURSE she's the cutest baby in the whole world and should definitely win! ;-)

All you have to do is:

1) Go to this url: www.gerber.com/photo
2) Click the red "Vote for August Photos" button
3) Click the blue "Search Photos" button at the bottom
4) Enter "Cameron" and "Longmont"
5) Select her photo and click the red "Vote for Me" button
6) Enter your email address and submit
7) They'll send you an email to verify your vote

The best part is you can vote once a day for the rest of September, so go crazy people. :-)

I mean seriously, look at how cute that little face is!

Seven Months Old!

Cameron is Seven Months Old!

September 13, 2010
Weight: 15 pounds
Length: 26.5 inches
Head: 42.5 centimeters

Seven months old today, wow. I have been pulling out a bunch of clothes that I bought a long time ago for when Cameron was "big". Now they fit her, I can't believe it. It just makes me laugh. I can hardly remember when she was teeny tiny now. She still seems so little to me. I'm so glad we have lots of pictures and videos.

We don't have another doctors appointment until Cameron is nine months old, so I took all of this months measurements myself. Now that Cameron is so squirmy it's really hard to get accurate measurements, so these probably aren't right on, but hopefully they're close. Her weight is at the 16th percentile, her length is the 56th percentile and her head circumference is in the 36th percentile.

So Cameron, what are you up to at seven months old?

  • You started eating solid food this month. You have solids once a day right now. So far you've tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, zucchini, carrots, bananas, peas, summer squash and oatmeal. Bananas and carrots aren't your favorite.

  • You like to mimic the things we do and the noises we make.

  • You are a very fast army crawler, you can zip from room to room without a problem.

  • You can high five, clap and wave now.

  • You can stand up by yourself when you have something to hold onto like the bathtub.

  • You started to develop a little bit of anxiety when around other people. We've gotten called out of church a couple times to pick you up because you were upset.

  • You can sit in a high chair all by yourself.

  • You are mostly wearing 6 month clothes and you're in a size 2 diaper.

  • You are learning to drink from a sippy cup. You haven't completely gotten the hang of it yet, but you sure do like to chew on it.

  • You've learned to push up to your hands and knees and rock back and forth.

  • You like when we sing songs to you, especially when they are goofy and we dance around and make faces while we're doing it.

  • You are a really happy and fun little girl. We have so much fun making you laugh.

Frisco Weekend

This weekend we went up to the mountains with Ryan's office and their families. Ryan's parents (they own the company) rented a big bed and breakfast style house in Frisco for everyone to stay at. The house had 10 bedrooms, each one with its own bathroom, so it worked out perfectly. Ryan works with some really wonderful people so we had a great time.

I think Cameron had a fun time too. This was actually her first trip to the mountains in Colorado. I can't believe it took us this long to get her up there, but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.

This was right before we hit the road on Friday afternoon. As you can see, meal time gets a little crazy sometimes!

Check out Cameron's pink chucks! Doesn't she look cool? Aunt Mac will be so proud.

On our way to Frisco we stopped at the outlets in Silverthone and did a little shopping. I was so excited when we found a "Cameron sized" soccer ball at the Nike store, of course we had to get it.

It was a little chilly on Saturday morning...good thing I had Cameron's hat and mittens ready to go.

Saturday afternoon we walked around downtown Frisco for while. The weather was perfect.

Just so everyone knows...we were in FRISCO!

We found the coolest little bike in one of the shops. It's a special training bike without petals. It's supposed to help a kid get used to balancing on a bike when they're first learning to ride. Of course Ryan was pumped about the bike.

Cameron was pretty excited about it too.

Don't forget you helmet Cameron! (We didn't buy the bike, we though we should at least wait until she can walk first. HA)

Cameron playing with the kids at the house. She's getting so big!

This is her new thing, she gets up onto her hands and knees and rocks back and forth.

Cameron and I shopping on Saturday afternoon. Check out the car in the background...

It has a ski rack on top, how cool is that?!

We walked down to the lake at sunset.

This morning Cameron and I met up with one of my friends, Rachel. She lives and works in Breckenridge now so it worked out great to see her.

When we got home we unpacked and cleaned up a few things. Cameron helped with cleaning out the fridge.

Just Another Hump Day

Today was a pretty ordinary day for us, but I got some fun pictures and thought I would share...

Cameron loves to play in our blinds. So far they've stayed intact, but Ryan keeps warning me that we better be careful or we could end up with a few strips missing. I figure if it keeps her occupied, it's probably worth the risk!

Looking so sweet and innocent.

I thought I was so clever getting this basket to keep the remotes away from Cameron...yeah right! She's just too smart for me. I love how she has a ton of toys, but she still decides to play with the remote controls. Silly girl!

Busted!

Since she pulled all the stuff out of the basket I figured we'd put her in it.

Oooops...she tipped over while I was taking the picture!

I mentioned yesterday how Cameron is getting super mobile. She pulled herself up onto this chair all by herself today. I love her expression, it's like she's saying, "Stay back Mom, I've got this covered."

We made a little tent with her puzzle toy. Of course, she's chewing on one of the pieces, everything goes into her mouth these days. I'm thinking we may have some teeth on the way because she's been a little bit cranky too.

Ryan had a soccer game tonight, so Cameron and I went for a walk. Isn't she a cute, sporty little thing?

There was a short rain shower right before we left for our walk (which is awesome because they're still trying to control the fire in Boulder). This was what the mountains looked like after the rain cleared. Beautiful.

There was a rainbow too.

Well, that pretty much covers our day, the exciting parts at least. ;-) Now it's off to bed for me.
